Lord of the Rings Online plans to lock 32-bit server character creation by the end of July

Lord of the Rings Online’s long-running 32-bit servers may have an execution date of August 31st, but their days are even more numbered than that. Standing Stone Games announced that it will be locking new character creation on all of those worlds as of July 30th while free transfers to the 64-bit realms continue through the end of August.

Play LOTRO for freeAs current players on the old worlds decide when to jump ship, they’ll have to factor in another announcement by the studio: “We are extending the Leading the Charge Deed for the level cap 130 instance deeds until 3:00 AM Eastern on August 25th. Please note that players have through August 31st to transfer their characters on Treebeard, and we encourage them to do so as soon as they are ready.”

SSG also said that it’s finalizing work on a new producer’s letter to the players.
