The next Final Fantasy XIV patch, The Promise of Tomorrow, is slated for early August. The promise of August. But you don’t have to take that from us; you can find out more about it yourself when the next live letter from the producer kicks off on July 24th at 6:00 a.m. EDT. As is common for the second letter, players can expect the release date, previews of some of the new content, gear previews, and the ever-mysterious “miscellaneous updates” which usually mean new merch or cross-promotion.

Final Fantasy XI, on the other hand, is not hosting a live letter for its newest patch early in the morning in the US, in no small part because its newest patch is the patch that just hit. It makes changes to Mog Gardens as well as Limbus and also refreshes the enemies players will be facing inside of Ambuscade (although that happens every month). Still, we’re all glad that it’s still keeping on.
