Dune Awakening has begun the restoration of player items lost to the Deep Desert zone switcharoo bug

Funcom shocked even us this week when the Dune Awakening team responded to players who’d lost everything in the PvE/PvP zone switcharoo bug by promising them compensation. Now, that compensation is actually rolling out.

“We identified sub-fief consoles, their associated bases, and vehicles destroyed in affected areas of the Deep Desert, from the time the patch on the 7th was released until the Coriolis Storm wipe,” the studio said last night. “Reimbursements will be made based on this window. We strived to have as accurate a snapshot as possible, but with this in mind, there may be some minor inaccuracies in the final result.”

The team explains that items will be sent back to the original owner of the base’s sub-fief console (Sub-Fief Console is my new band name). Expect currency, comps, schems, mats from containers and inventories, as well as vehicles and the materials for the lost buildings. Funcom is not restoring basic wall mats or unique modules, and it’s capping Solari reimbursements at 1M per person.

Players will need to make sure they’re in a safe spot with lots of storage before clicking the claim rewards button; if you try to claim too much at once, it’ll hit the ground and be at risk of despawn, so do this smartly, friendos. Finally, bear in mind that Funcom says this whole process should take a few days, so be patient if you’re not in the first batch.
