PSA: Final Fantasy XIV turns housing demolitions back on for the European servers soon

In November of last year, players of Final Fantasy XIV on the European servers were treated to one of the pauses on automatic housing demolition that crops up whenever something might well prevent a lot of players from logging in for a bit. This is not unusual. Housing demolition timers get paused all the time to give players time and space to deal with emergencies instead of focusing on visiting their in-game houses. It has been about nine months since then, however, and so the demolition timers are being turned back on with the launch of 7.3 in early August.

Players who have visited their houses on a European data center at some point between the suspension and now won’t need to think twice about this; their houses will already be refreshed. If you still haven’t checked in, of course, consider this your warning note; just logging in and stepping inside your house will reset the timer. Fans will also receive an email warning ahead of time, so you will hopefully have ample notice to log in and keep your house if you’ve been away for a bit. And just to reiterate, this is just for the European data centers, so players on the North American data centers or elsewhere will be unaffected.
