If you read MOP’s Justin’s Hype Train on the current state of Monsters and Memories and thought, Yes, this is exactly the kind of throwback MMORPG I am looking for, then pull out your calendar and save the date: Niche Worlds Cult has set the next community alpha test for next week.

“We will be holding a 5 Day Community Alpha Test starting on Wednesday, July 23rd, 2025 at 1pm Eastern,” the studio says. “The servers that will be available are Relle (PvE), Krivea (PvE), and Haradrel (PvP).”

These tests are open to all comers; you’ll just need to roll up an account (or log into your account from past events) and get patched up. There’s a quick start guide if you’re totally new, too.

Justin did find the last event to be charming and weird in its own way, just note that the game really is harkening back to EverQuest in every way, and it is not being shy about it. Also the soundtrack slaps, or to use the parlance of our time, “bequeaths a festive sound upon our bosom.”
