Warframe fans have spent some time bopping to excellent music, having a grand old time in 1999. You might even say that we’ve had the party of our lifetimes. But the party is coming to an end based on the latest teaser trailers from the game ahead of the fast-approaching TennoCon. We’ve gotten two video teasers with a somber hymn sung over footage of what appear to be several deactivated or dead Warframes in fields of ash, accompanied by the lotus flower that has become the symbol of the Tenno.
What does it all mean? It’s hard to be sure, but the text in each video calls back to the oaths taken by the crew of the Zariman, which implies that this is either finally a chance for players to visit Tau and leave the Origin System behind, or perhaps another step along the history as we continue chasing after Albrecht Entrati. Whatever the case, it’s clear that the pop-filled and exuberant spirit of the 1999 update is moving into the past as we approach that far shore, forlorn.
