Early access for horse mystery MMO Equinox: Homecoming continues its steady gait of updates, with the game’s most recent patch introducing what one might consider to be the most important feature: the ability to pet your horse friend. It doesn’t have any mechanical benefit, per se, but it does feel good, doesn’t it?
That’s right, this latest patch has introduced a wide assortment of emotes including the aforementioned horse petting, clapping, laughing, waving, and high five offering. Ideally your character will not be left hanging when seeking to slap some palm with someone else, but that’s the risk one takes when looking for a high five.
Obviously there’s more than just emotes in the update, as a variety of new items for horse and rider are also added like cowboy hats (finally), beanies, bridles, and blankets. Lastly, there are a variety of quality-of-life updates such as the ability to gather on horseback from more movement speeds, some UI improvements, better chapter two quest dialogue, some new graphical options, and further improvements to horse animations.
Looking at the game’s current Steam details, we find that user reviews have moved to “mostly positive” in both recent and overall categories, though the player numbers have tumbled significantly into the double digits. So there may not be many players around to give you that sweet high five, but the option is now there.
