If you played Half-Life back when it first came out, you may have wondered what it would have been like to have been one of the scientists still at Black Mesa dealing with the twin aggressors of a hostile dimensional incursion and military operations. Abiotic Factor is about exactly that; it’s about playing as part of the research staff in what is not Black Mesa but may as well be as you and your fellow scientists try to save yourselves. And if that catches your interest, then you should know that the game is launching out of early access very soon.

The title has been in early access since May of last year, and it features a number of systems, crafting mechanics, survival options, and ways to play solo or with friends as you attempt to survive the overrun facility. So if you’re certain that you would simply make the entrance hall into a new secure facility and then avoid the alien and military incursions that would place you in danger, well, there’s a game to let you test that theory.
