The day is finally here that will change Dungeons and Dragons Online forever. SSG is activating three new 64-bit servers this afternoon and encouraging all players to pack up from the soon-to-close 32-bit realms onto one of the newer ones.

The three new realms — Shadowdale (US), Thrane (US), and Moonsea (EU) — will join Cormyr to become the four permanent DDO servers after this summer, as all the older shards will be taken offline after August 31st.

As for the timing, a studio rep posted this yesterday: “We went through several iterations of tomorrow’s rollout plan before ultimately deciding that a clean 2:00 pm Eastern start worked the best for the widest number of people. It will be early to mid evening for much of Europe, afternoon East Coast into mid-morning West Coast and so on.”
