TennoCon 2025: Soulframe prelude test access is open to everyone who signs up this weekend

There are three kinds of players who have signed up for the Soulframe Preludes: those who are currently playing (by far the smallest group), those who are eager to play but don’t have access, and those who are waiting to play only after there are no more account resets (where I am sitting). We can even add on those who just haven’t signed up yet. No matter which group you fall into, TennoCon 2025 has some big news for you!

Preludes access is opening up to everyone who has ever or will be signed up by the end of this weekend. And for the first group — and all the others — Senior Community Manger Sarah Asselin has revealed that Soulframe plans to stop resetting accounts.

Opening the flood gates

How big of a deal is it for everyone who has ever signed up to gain access right after TennoCon weekend? While we chatted with Asselin, she shared some startling numbers: Over 1.2 million gamers have signed up, but currently about 850K of those are still waiting to play. Those folks will all be able to join in come Monday. Talk about a possible deluge! No one would fault folks for wondering whether the game will be able to handle such a load, but Creative Director Geoff Crookes told us that Digital Extremes has prepared for it and are ready for the influx.

So if you have been waiting for your invite, you are getting it. The deal is that you have to sign up by the end of Sunday night, July 20th. If you have been interested but on the fence, now is definitely the time to get your name on the list. It’s better to have access and choose not to start up yet than not be able to when you want to! Monday is the anticipated day of opening the doors, so you won’t have long to wait, either.

No more wiping

Some folks have either held off playing or even signing up because the game is in the early alpha phase, where changes in development necessitate the resetting of progress and characters. With the announcement of ending the account resets, progress will be preserved. This was my own personal dealbreaker; I’ve had to hold back because I didn’t want to have to keep restarting. The promise of an end of wipes is going to be welcome news; one player shared with me how long they had to grind to farm a particular cool armor outfit and how losing it would have been crushing.

With this change, I am eager to delve in and experience the world more fully, including its Floppit. Did I mean Poppit? No, there’s now also a Floppit. And a bear. And more hair, as well as much more. Stay tuned for all the details as our Soulframe and TennoCon coverage continues!
